YEASU FT-8900R - This is my long trip mobile radio. I travel with two Diamond mobile antennas. The SR8900A antenna is a quad band antenna (28/52/144/440 MHz), and a Diamond 270 dual band antenna (2/70). The Diamond K9000 motorized mount is bolted to the roof rack on my car. Now I push a button to raise and lower the antenna. I have the left side programmed for 2 and 70cm, and the right side for quad band frequencies. The remote head is mounted in a vent mount. The FT-8900R unit is under the drivers seat. The separation kit makes this possible. I like the cross band feature of this radio! Activate the cross band feature and now I have the power of a mobile radio even though I am using a HT on low power! Programming software is from RT Systems.

YEASU FTM-400DR - Analog/Digital dual band radio. This is daily mobile radio. The Diamond K9000 motorized mount is bolted to the roof rack on my car. Now I push a button to raise and lower the antenna. The Diamond 270 dual band antenna (2/70) is the antenna I use with this unit.  I have programmed frequencies the same on both the upper and lower memories. The remote head is mounted in a vent mount. The FTM-400DR unit is under the drivers seat. The separation kit makes this possible. The top display is for analog and digital (C4FM/WIRES-X). The lower display is analog only. There is no cross band function on this radio.  There is a micro SD card slot for the storage of memory programming and for the photos (sending and receiving) when using the camera/speaker mic. Here is a photo taken on my FT-1DR HT transmitted to the FTM-400DR. (left to right) Jeff N8HEE his wife Linda (N8MCZ) and my son Kim (WA8KIM). Programming software is from RT Systems.

SharkRF OpenSpot 2 is what I use here at the QTH/mobile/portable. The OpenSpot 2 is a DMR/C4FM/D-star 20 mw hot spot for digital modes. The unit can cross mode between Fusion and DMR and DMR to Fusion. The OpenSpot 2 is powered by the USB port on the modem and is connected to the internet via WIFI.

QYT-7900D - Love this little tri-band unit! It is very easy to take mobile/portable and it runs about 20 watts!
